Our story

Real. Raw. Unapologetically You.

RAW419 was born from a simple truth: women need spaces where they can show up exactly as they are — no filters, no judgment, no performance.

Our Mission

RAW419 exists to create safe, peer-led spaces where women can speak freely, heal collectively, and build genuine community. We believe that being heard — truly heard — is one of the most powerful forces for mental wellness.

We are not a therapy practice. We are a community. Our support groups are peer-facilitated spaces designed to complement — not replace — professional mental health care.

Our Vision

A Toledo where every woman has access to a judgment-free community that supports her mental and emotional well-being — regardless of her background, income, or circumstances.

We envision expanding RAW419 into a multi-program organization offering support groups, wellness events, mentorship, and community resources across Northwest Ohio and beyond.

Our foundation

Founded on Faith

Founded on Christian principles, with the belief that faith in God and mental health outreach and services — such as support groups — can work hand in hand to strengthen and heal both the heart and mind.

What We Stand For

Authenticity

We show up as we are — messy, healing, growing. No performance required.

Safety

What's shared in the room stays in the room. We hold each other's stories with care.

Community

We are stronger together. Connection is the foundation of everything we do.

Growth

We believe every woman has the capacity to heal, evolve, and thrive.

I built RAW419 because I needed it — and I knew I wasn't the only one.

Meet the co-founder

Amyah Cooper

Co-Founder & Executive Director, RAW419

Amyah Cooper founded RAW419 after recognizing a gap in her own community — women were struggling in silence, without access to spaces where they could be honest about their mental health without fear of judgment or stigma.

Drawing from her own lived experience and her deep roots in Toledo, Amyah created RAW419 as the community she wished had existed for her. What started as a small weekly gathering has grown into a movement rooted in peer support, radical honesty, and collective healing.

Amyah is passionate about making mental wellness accessible to all women — especially those who have been overlooked by traditional systems of care. She leads every group with warmth, intention, and an unwavering commitment to creating space for every voice.

Meet the co-founder

Laniayh Chandler

Co-Founder, RAW419

Laniayh Chandler co-founded RAW419 out of a deep conviction that Black women in Toledo deserve a real community — one that sees them, holds them, and lifts them up. Growing up, she watched women around her carry the weight of their struggles alone, and she knew something had to change.

Inspired by the powerful women's circles she saw reflected in stories like The Chi, Laniayh felt called to build that same energy right here in Toledo. She believes representation matters — not just on screen, but in the rooms we create for ourselves.

At 23, Laniayh brings a fresh, fearless perspective to RAW419. She shows up for this community the same way she shows up in life — fully, authentically, and with her whole heart.

Laniayh Chandler, Co-Founder of RAW419

We have a lack of community for Black women in Toledo — RAW419 is us building that for ourselves.

Important: We Are Peer Support, Not Therapy

RAW419 is a peer-support community, not a licensed mental health practice. Our facilitators are not therapists, counselors, or medical professionals. We do not provide diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room.
